The Key to Protecting Your Workplace Against Omicron During the Winter Surge

by | Feb 8, 2022 | businesses

During the winter months, when we spend a lot of time indoors near other people, protecting your workplace from Omicron and other COVID variants is especially important.

Despite signs that this highly transmissible variant is starting to slow down, it hasn’t gone away. Even now, many employers are still struggling with sick leave and employee shortages.

Fortunately, by following these key tips, you can start protecting your workplace during the pandemic.

Mask up

One of the most important things you can do to protect yourself against Omicron is to wear a mask. Make sure it’s fitted properly and covers your nose and mouth fully.

Of course, N95s are still the gold standard, but they can be pretty pricey when you’re ordering for your entire workforce–especially since they’re not reusable.

This is where 3-ply cloth face masks come into play.

They’re breathable, washable/reusable, and very affordable. Plus, many are made from soft materials like cotton and polyester, so they’re comfortable and don’t cause irritation like N95s or KN95s. At Quality Face Wear, we offer both 2-ply and 3-ply face masks. We also offer custom options that let you add your company logo to your masks as well. And, we allow you to customize your order with different add-ons, including nose-bridges, and adjustable ear loops, –all to enhance your safety and comfort.

Implement a temperature screening policy

Another key way to protect your workplace against Omicron is to implement a temperature screening policy. This will help you identify anyone who may be infected and prevent them from entering your facility.

At Quality Face Wear, we offer three different temperature screening kiosks that can help you do just that. Our kiosks are fast, accurate, and easy to use. They can help you quickly screen for fever in just seconds and identify anyone who may be infected.

They also double as an added security feature. With facial recognition capabilities, they can be programmed to integrate with your automatic doors, only letting approved people in or those who show valid ID.

Managing immunity

Grappling with vaccine mandates and regular PCR testing has been such a hassle. In your many years as a business owner, you likely never anticipated having to manage something like this.

Fortunately, there’s a much easier (and fairer) option: immunity management.

This process doesn’t just monitor vaccinated immunity–it accounts for natural immunity as well.

No more letting go of valuable staff due to noncompliance with the vaccine mandate.

Now, you can allow those with natural immunity to come back to work with a Surrogate Virus Neutralization Test (sVNT).

These tests measure neutralizing antibodies (NAbs), which are the specific antibodies your body uses to prevent the virus from attaching to your cells and replicating. With this information, you’ll be able to quantify exactly how protected you are with a percentage.

The Anzu Immunity Profile assay takes the results of your employees’ tests and puts them into a HIPAA-compliant dashboard that you can regularly monitor. If their numbers are in the red zone, you can decide whether to require them to get a booster shot or start their vaccine sequence.

Because all immunity (whether vaccinated or natural) wanes over time, your employees will need to get retested every 4-6 months. The Immunity Management System Dashboard will supply you with these dates as well.

Protecting your workplace from Omicron this winter has never been easier. Be sure to follow these key tips! And if you need any help or guidance in doing so, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Quality Face Wear. We’d be more than happy to help.
