There are no words to describe this past year.
2020 will go down in history, that’s for sure.
But how much of it can we actually leave in the past?
Behavioral changes caused by COVID-19
COVID-19 has reshaped consumer habits and interrupted the way we interact with the world.
One of the biggest changes seen in the business world has been the substantial increase in online shopping. Many businesses were forced to quickly adapt to e-commerce, making it easier for consumers to order anything they could ever need directly from their fingertips.
This, along with social distancing, wearing face masks, a possible permanent ban on handshakes, and other behavioral changes, doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.
Wearing face masks and avoiding close contact
As of now, the future is looking to be a mixture of our old and new normal. For example, masks will likely never go away entirely, but we will soon be able to start hugging and embracing each other like we used to.
We should all expect to wear masks on a case-by-case basis as early as next year. Chances are that we’ll adopt the same policy that China’s had all these years–wearing masks only when we feel sick or during flu season.
Staying home when sick and working remotely
Thanks to COVID, schools and businesses have completely changed the way they view sick days and absentees. Because of this, an emphasis on hygiene practices like staying home when we’re sick will likely be here to stay (thankfully).
We can also expect to see business owners keep their working from home models, allowing employees to work remotely when necessary. Schools, however, are expected to return to in-person classes as soon as this fall.
Temperature screening in businesses
Getting your temperature taken before entering a store or restaurant has become a common occurrence for Americans.
If your business hasn’t already implemented this, it’s definitely not too late. Because even when the pandemic is finally declared over, temperature screening kiosks like SafeScreen will still be useful in your daily operations.
Hopefully, there will come a day when its fever-checking abilities are no longer needed, but its security features are here to stay.
SafeScreen relies on facial recognition to function and can be programmed to open your automatic doors strictly for employees or other authorized personnel–alerting you when a stranger attempts to enter.
Unfortunately, we’ve still got a ways to go before COVID-19 is a thing of the past. Slowly but surely, we will get there–but in the meantime, we’ve got to continue doing our best to keep each other safe.
At Quality Face Wear, we’re determined to make 2021 a year for healing. Our goal is to get everyone back to school and work safely, helping slow the spread of COVID-19 with temperature screening kiosks and masks. Contact us today to request a quote!
