Since March, the fight for disinfectant spray and wipes has been an aggressive one.
Most stores sell out as soon as they restock, and scam artists are tricking people into buying fake products.
Thankfully, we’ve got some breaking news for you:
But will disinfecting surfaces make any difference in the fight against COVID-19?
We’ve got your answers.
How COVID-19 is spread
The CDC has advised that COVID-19 is mainly spread via airborne particles, not surface contact. Therefore, stocking up on disinfectant isn’t worth it.
Hospitals have proven this by testing surfaces near or touched by COVID patients. The only virus particles they found on these surfaces were viral RNA (the non-contagious corpse of the virus).
No infectious virus was detected.
The reason the contagious virus wasn’t found on these surfaces is because it’s so fragile. Contrary to popular belief, it actually decays very quickly in the environment, which makes the real concern airborne transmission.
As of January 2nd, 2021, a new and even more contagious strain of COVID-19 has been reported in three U.S. states.
So far, both forms of COVID have been reported to spread via airborne transmission–not by physical touch.
That being said, it’s time to stop wasting time and energy disinfecting surfaces that aren’t even carrying the virus.
With the virus rapidly mutating and multiple countries beginning to shut down again, disinfecting the air has never been more important.
Yes, it is possible.
And no, it’s not harmful to breathe in.
Dr. Kevin Fennelly, a respiratory infection specialist at the NIH, states that indoor spaces like restaurants can benefit from ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UV disinfectant).
UV disinfectant, like Spiro-Max, is made to kill COVID-19 where it’s most active: in the air. Unlike traditional spray disinfectant, it does not release harmful toxins into the air that we breathe in and doesn’t require constant reapplication.
Instead, a powerful UVC light is used to eradicate harmful viruses and bacteria as they circle through your HVAC system–without the use of dangerous chemicals.
Spiro-Max can be easily installed directly into your HVAC ducting, or even suspended into the upper air space of your building. The sanitized air is endlessly recirculated and purified, regardless of room temperature. Whether you’re looking to purify a humid, warm greenhouse or a storage room below 34°F, Spiro-Max can handle the deed.
At Quality Face Wear, we’re determined to make 2021 a year for healing. Our goal is to get everyone back to school and work safely, helping slow the spread of COVID-19 with temperature screening kiosks, masks, and UVC disinfection equipment.
Keep the air in your facility sanitized all day, everyday, and reduce airborne transmission in your building with Spiro-Max. Contact us today to request a quote!
